New blog, first post ....

...now what do I do? While I often seem to have ideas, feelings, comments, and/or thoughts on a wide range of topics, the idea of actually trying to crystalize my often vague and only partially formed thinking is somewhat intimidating. Nevertheless, I shall, as they say, "give it a go" (though I have no idea as to the "where" it might lead....)
